    Our new project is the “Mandosi Creche” in Mandlazini, near Richards Bay.<\/p>\n

    This is a community kindergarten with 13 children at present. However, the community has no money to look after its upkeep or care. As a result, the kindergarten is in a catastrophic state. The asbestos roof is leaking, there is no furniture, no toys, no food. The children are kept all day from 9 am to 4 pm. Unless the children bring food from home, which is the rule, \u00a0they go hungry all day. Most parents are not in a financial position to feed their children properly. They pay the equivalent of around 7 euros a month for childcare. This money is just enough to pay the two carers Zanele and Busi.<\/p>\n

    We would like to change this and become “sponsors” of the kindergarten. We want to train the two “carers”, Zanele and Busi, in how to encourage children, teach them the rules of cleanliness and thus build a kindergarten worthy of its name.<\/p>\n

    Here are some of the measures that we would like to realise with the help of your donations:<\/p>\n

    • Replacing the roof<\/li>\n
    • Repair the fencing<\/li>\n
    • Purchase of furniture such as tables, shelves and chairs, as well as mattresses for the afternoon nap<\/li>\n
    • Purchase a stove so that the children can at least have porridge in the morning<\/li>\n
    • Buy toys, and educational toys<\/li>\n
    • Regular supply of food such as fruit, milk, porridge, bread, peanut butter etc.<\/li>\n
    • Paint and perhaps tile the rooms<\/li>\n
    • Purchase plates, cups, cutlery, soap, and towels<\/li>\n
    • Set up and build a jungle gym and sandpit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
