Staudt’s “Schalala” was not only a musical success!

The first Staudt sing-along evening attracted numerous visitors to the “Alte Kirche” in Staudt last November. Accompanied by live music, the guests sang together and had a lot of fun. Based on a song by Marius Müller Westernhagen, you could say: “Not beautiful, but cool and loud!”

The idea for this event came from the two organisers and musicians Johannes Selbach, and Jörg Ortseifen. They were supported by numerous helpers from the community. The Staudt Car Centre and the local community also supported this fantastic event.

Another success of the evening was celebrated with the presentation of a cheque for €700 to the organisation “Colours for Kids e. V.”. The mayor of Staudt, Sven Normann, recently handed over the cheque to the chairwoman of the association, Dorothee Holly, in the presence of the organisers Johannes Selbach, and Jörg Ortseifen. The non-profit organisation from Niederelbert will use the donation to work on a school project in the community of KwaMbonambi in South Africa. New classrooms are to be built there so that the school’s space situation can be improved and the children can learn more individually and effectively. There are currently over 65 children aged between 6 and 12 in one class.

Further information on the association’s projects can be found on the association’s website at www.coloursforkids.de.
