On 15 April 2023, we officially opened the new classroom at Rainbow School. The donations from Colours for Kids made it possible to build a new timber frame construction. The project was implemented quickly. Karin was on site with her husband, and brother for several days to help the construction workers.
The Rainbow School is located in the Tembe area and currently provides pre-school education for around 70 children. The school was officially founded in 2019 by Thulani Tusi and his wife Sbongile. At the time it was founded, there were only 9 children in one classroom.
The first class is now to be set up from 2024 so that the pre-school children can continue to attend Rainbow School. To this end, Colours for Kids is expected to start building a third classroom in September 2023. The plan is for the children to be educated at the Rainbow School up to high school age in future. This will require the gradual creation of additional rooms.
Colours for Kids will therefore also finance additional teachers. We are happy to facilitate a kind of “teacher sponsorship” for regular donations.
